Ratios of similarity between solids

When two solids are similar, the ratios between their magnitudes follow a power law of the ratio of similarity.

Property — Ratios of similarity for solids

If two solids are similar with ratio of similarity $k$ (the ratio between corresponding sides), then:

• ratio between corresponding areas: $k^2$;
• ratio between volumes: $k^3$.
