Thales’ theorem extends to space: a pencil of parallel planes cuts proportional segments on two transversals. From this follows the law of ratios of similarity between solids (areas as k2k^2k2, volumes as k3k^3k3), which is applied to computing the volume of a frustum of a pyramid.
