Remark — Accumulation points at infinity
We say that is an accumulation point of if is unbounded above, that is, if for every there exists with . Similarly for (unbounded below).
It is precisely this notion that gives meaning to limits of the form : we can “let tend to infinity” only if the domain contains values of as large as we wish.
