In a circle with centre OO and radius rr, consider a chord MNMN. Extend the chord beyond NN by a segment NPNP congruent to the radius. Then join PP to the centre OO and draw the line POPO; let QQ be the point where it meets the circle on the opposite side of the centre from PP. Prove that the central angle QOM^\widehat{QOM} is three times the angle OPN^\widehat{OPN}.
