Solution

Prices. A pair of knee pads costs $6$ euros; the jersey costs $6+8=14$ euros.

Spending per player. Each player spends $2\cdot 6 + 14 = 12 + 14 = 26 \text{ euros}.$

Equation. Let $n$ be the number of players: $26n = 520 \implies n = 20.$ Check: $20\cdot 26 = 520$. Correct. $\boxed{20 \text{ players}}$
